RESUMO

The privacy problem of facial recognition technology is that commercial companies obtain people's facial information without the consent of individuals and use facial information to infringe on the privacy of individuals. The importance of human privacy in facial recognition technology is reflected through facial ethics, which requires others to perform corresponding obligations to individuals, such as oral care. Through the analysis of the privacy issues of facial recognition technology, it is found that the two elements of "without personal informed" and "without personal consent" together form the basis for commercial companies to violate personal privacy. The principle of informed consent includes the principle of informed and the principle of consent, which is derived from the principle of informed consent in medical ethics. This paper improves the principles of informed consent in medicine and ethics to better address facial recognition privacy issues.

Abstract@#Mental disorders represent 45% of the global disease burden among children and adolescents aged 10-24 years old. It is crucial to develop effective interventions that can be integrated into daily school activities in order to provide convenient and accessible mental health services for students and faculty members. The study conducts a randomized controlled trial to examine universal mental health promotion among children. The current protocol aims to develop a universal resilience focused program, which focuses on emotional regulation, coping, and problem solving. A total of 20 classes from two primary schools in grades 4-5 in Anhui, Tianchang were randomly assigned to either the intervention or waitlist group. This training consisted of 14 weekly 40 minute sessions of manualized interventions that were compatible with regular curricular activities. It is expected that this current intervention will enhance the psychological resilience of children and evaluate the effectiveness of promoting mental health among children followed up on indicators of depressive and anxiety symptoms, psychological resilience, oppositional defiant and conduct problems by questionnaires at baseline and after the intervention.

RESUMO

Abstract@#In rescent years, schools are confronting continued mental health needs of children and adolescents. The person centered school mental health service model is impossible to meet current and future increasingly public health problems. Under the framework of the "whole School, whole Community, whole Child" (WSCC) theory and the concept of health promoting schools proposed by the World Health Organization, the editorial proposes to integrate universal mental health services into essential public health services in school, as well as to build a digital school mental health service platform to enable new opportunities for universal mental health services in schools.

RESUMO

Abstract@#Over the past 40 years, there has been a long term trend of early pubertal onset in children in China. Early pubertal timing is closely associated with mental health and behavioral problems in children, and can even lead to cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, cancers of the endocrine system and abnormalities of the bone and joint system in adulthood. Prompt detection of early pubertal timing in children is important. There are many methods for evaluating pubertal timing, the appropriateness of which is worth exploring. This paper reviews previous literature publications, examines current research progress in evaluation methods of pubertal timing, evaluates their applicability in the study of children and adolescents, and provides a reference for the selection of an evaluation method to assess pubertal timing in children in China.

RESUMO

Objective: Mortality rate is a general indicator which can be used to measure care and management of schizophrenia. This cohort study evaluated the standardized mortality ratios (SMRs) of all-cause mortality and life-years lost (LYLs) in patients with schizophrenia under a community care program in China. Methods: Data were obtained from the National Community Care Program System for Severe Mental Disorders. A total of 99,214 patients diagnosed with schizophrenia were enrolled before December 2014 and followed between 2015 and 2019. A total of 9,483 patients died. Crude mortality rates (CMRs) and SMRs were then stratified by natural vs. unnatural causes, and major groups of death were standardized according to the 2010 National Population SMRs. The corresponding LYLs at birth were also calculated by gender and age. Results: The SMRs of patients with schizophrenia were significantly elevated during the study period, with an overall SMR of 4.98 (95%CI 2.67-7.32). Neoplasms, cardiovascular diseases, cerebrovascular diseases, external injuries, and poisonings were the most significant causes of death among patients with schizophrenia compared to the general population. The mean LYLs of patients with schizophrenia were 15.28 (95%CI 13.26-17.30). Males with schizophrenia lost 15.82 life-years (95%CI 13.48-18.16), and females lost 14.59 life-years (95%CI 13.12-16.06). Conclusions: Patients with schizophrenia under community care had a high mortality rate in our study, even though mental health services have been integrated into the general healthcare system in China to narrow treatment gaps in mental health for > 10 years. In terms of mortality outcome indicators, effective and quality mental health services still have a long way to go. The current study demonstrates the potential for improved prevention and treatment of individuals with schizophrenia under community care.

RESUMO

Objective@#To explore the buffering effect of positive childhood experiences (PCEs) on mental health risks among adolescents before and after COVID-19 epidemic.@*Methods@#In October 2019 (before the outbreak of COVID-19), 1 322 students from grades 4 to 9 were recruited from primary and secondary schools in two counties of Chizhou city, Anhui Province. A questionnaire survey was conducted to collect general demographic information, PCEs, depressive symptoms, anxiety symptoms, self harm behavior, suicidal ideation. Follow up survey was conducted after school re opening (May 2020). Mental health status before and after the COVID-19 epidemic was compared among students with different PCEs by multiple logistic regression analyses.@*Results@#The detection rates of depressive symptoms, anxiety symptoms, self harm behavior and suicidal ideation (22.6%, 16.0%, 40.0%, 29.9%) of the respondents after school re opening were significantly higher compared that before the epidemic (16.5%, 13.5%, 31.1 %, 22.6%). There were no significant differences in the detection rates of depressive symptoms, anxiety symptoms, self harm behavior and suicidal ideation between high PCEs group before and after the epidemic ( Z =-0.05,0.27,0.84,1.84, P >0.05). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that the risk of depressive symptoms and self harm behavior in the low PCEs group after school re opening was 1.39 times higher than that before the epidemic (95% CI= 1.05 -1.84, P <0.05). The risk of non suicidal self injury behavior in the low PCEs group after school re opening was 1.31 times higher than that before the epidemic (95% CI= 1.05 -1.62, P <0.05). There were no significant differences in mental health detection rates in high PCEs group before and after the epidemic ( P >0.05).@*Conclusion@#During the time of COVID-19 epidemic, PCEs is associated with lower rates of depressive symptoms, anxiety symptoms, self harm behavior and suicide ideation in adolescents. The findings suggest that more support and help should be given to adolescents from the perspectives of family, school and peers, so as to reduce the adverse effects of public health emergencies on adolescents mental health.

RESUMO

Objective@#To explore the relationship and potential mechanism between peer victimization and early onset of breast development in girls, and to provide new strategies for precocious puberty prevention.@*Methods@#A total of 950 girls aged (9.0±1.2) years participated in this survey in Ma anshan City in China. Revised Bully/Victim Questionnaire (BVQ) was used. Each girl was assessed on breast Tanner stage by one female pediatric endocrinologist. All the girls collected morning awakening saliva sample with Salivette at home. Body fat percentage (%BF) was derived from Bioelectrical Impedance Analyzer (BIA) measurements. The association between peer bullying and early breast development was analyzed by stepwise Logistic regression. The mediation coefficient was estimated using the Logistic regression.@*Results@#Totally 23.2% (220/950) of all the girls reported being victimized at school. More girls reported peer victimization had early breast onset (24.1%,53) compared with girls with no victimization experience ( 13.7 %,100). Logistic regression analyses indicated that peer victimization was associated with early onset of breast development ( OR=1.74, 95%CI =1.16-2.59) after body fat and awakening cortisol adjusted. Mediation analysis showed that high cortisol and high fat both had indirect effects in the association between peer victimization and early onset of breast development.Mediating analysis showed that both high cortisol level and high body fat rate had indirect effects between peer bullying and early breast development, and the mediating effect values were 0.37 and 0.45,respectively.@*Conclusion@#Peer victimization significantly correlated with early onset of breast development among girls, which might be mediated through HPA axis hyperactivity and high adiposity.

RESUMO

Objective@#To investigate the epidemiological characteristics of premature eruption of permanent molars and its aasociation with body mass index (BMI), to provide a reference for childhood oral health promotion.@*Methods@#A total of 861 children aged 9 to 12 years from two primary schools in Bengbu City were selected by cluster sampling method. Parental questionnaire was administered to collect socio demographic information. The eruption of second permanent molars were examined. Data was analyzed by multivariate Logistic regression model and margins command.@*Results@#The detection rate of premature eruption of second permanent molars was 26.5%(228), 27.5% in boys and 24.9% in girls( χ 2=0.73, P =0.39). Early detection rate of second permanent molars (39.0%) was significantly higher in obese group than normal weight group (21.5%)( χ 2=21.85, P <0.01). Logistic regression analysis showed that obesity was positively correlated with the risk of premature eruption of second permanent molars( OR= 3.55 , 95%CI=2.14-5.87, P <0.01). Overweight was not associated with higher risk of premature eruption of second permanent molars( OR=1.64, 95%CI=0.95-2.81, P =0.07). Being female was associated with higher risk of premature eruption of second permanent molars compared to age matched peers( OR=2.19, 95%CI=1.42-3.39, P <0.01).@*Conclusion@#Childhood obesity is associated with higher risk for premature eruption of second permanent molars. Girls are more likely to have second permanent molar erupted in advance compared to age matched boys.

RESUMO

Abstract@#The present review aims to summarize update information regarding screening guidelines for depression in children and adolescents across the world, and to provide reference for school based adolescent depression screening in China. Globally, national guidelines or expert consensus on screening for depression in children and adolescents were collected and reviewed. Majority of these guidelines and expert consensus propose universal screening for depression among adolescents aged 12 to 18 years based on appropriate screening tools, which ensure the early detection, treatment and intervention of adolescent depression. However, there lacks sufficient evidence to support universal screening for children under 12 years of age, except for those with high risk for depression.

RESUMO

Objective@#To compare the effects of Cox proportional hazard regression model (Cox model) and extreme gradient boosting model ( XGBoost model ) on the prediction of the mortality of acute paraquat poisoning (APP).@*Methods@#The APP cases admitted to Qingdao Eighth People's Hospital and Shandong Provincial Hospital from January 1st of 2018 to December 1st of 2020 was recruited and divided into a training group and a verification group by a random number table. The Cox model and XGBoost model were established to select the predictors for APP mortality. Receiver operating characteristic ( ROC ) curve was drawn to analyze the predictive power of the two models, and the calibration was evaluated using Hosmer-Lemeshow test.@*Results@#Totally 150 APP cases were recruited. There were 75 cases each in the training group and in the verification group, with 52 and 55 cases died respectively, accounting for 69.33% and 73.33%. The Cox model showed that paraquat intake, the time from taking poison to seeing a doctor, the time for the first perfusion, the time for the first vomiting, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, white blood cell, lactic acid, creatine kinase isoenzymes, glucose, serum calcium and serum potassium were the predictors of APP mortality ( all P<0.05 ). The XGboost model showed that the predictive power of the factors in a descending order were the time from taking poison to seeing a doctor, the time for the first vomiting, the time for the first perfusion, lactic acid, white blood cell, paraquat intake, serum creatinine, serum potassium, serum calcium, creatine kinase isoenzymes, glucose, aspartate aminotransferase, blood urea nitrogen and alanine aminotransferase. The area under curve ( AUC ) of the XGBoost model for predicting was 0.972, which was greater than 0.921 of the Cox model ( P<0.05 ). The predicted results of the Cox model and XGBoost model were consistent with the actual situation ( P>0.05 ). @*Conclusion@#The Cox model and XGBoost model are consistent in predicting the mortality of APP, but the latter is better.

RESUMO

Abstract@#Early life adversity is related to multiple forms of psychopathology throughout the lifespan. However, relatively little is known about the way in which the characteristics of adversity influence subsequent mental health outcomes. The development of life course theoretical models provides a fresh perspective that aims to determine the causal association between early adversity and psychopathology. This article reviews research studies which applied one or more theoretical models, including the sensitive period, risk accumulation, risk chain, and recency models, to capture the relationship between exposure to early life adversity and psychopathology, so as to identify how early interventions can be improved.

RESUMO

Objective@#To explore the relationship between dietary patterns and central precocious puberty in children, and to provide a scientific basis for dietary prevention of precocious puberty.@*Methods@#A case-control study was conducted, among 35 newly diagnosed central precocious puberty girls from May to December 2019 as the case group, and 70 healthy girls with normal development as the control group. Physical development examination, parent questionnaire survey and child interview were carried out. Dietary information was assessed using a simplified food frequency questionnaire(FFQ). Principal component analysis was used to identify children s dietary patterns, and multiple Logistic regression was used to assess the association between dietary patterns and precocious puberty.@*Results@#Three different dietary patterns have been established, namely "snack and processed food type", "animal protein type" and "nutritional tonic type" dietary patterns, respectively. After adjusting for covariates such as age and BMI, Logistic regression analysis showed that the "snack and processed food type" dietary pattern was positively correlated with precocious puberty(OR=10.81, 95%CI=2.59-45.15, P<0.01). There was a negative correlation between "animal protein type" and precocious puberty(OR=0.24, 95%CI=0.06-0.91, P=0.04), while the association between "nutritive tonic" and precocious puberty was not statistically significant(OR=0.28, 95%CI=0.07-1.05, P=0.06).@*Conclusion@#Children s dietary patterns were related to precocious puberty." Snack and processed food "dietary pattern with a high intake of fried foods, puffed foods, foods containing preservatives or pigments, western fast foods, chocolate and products, was closely related to central precocious puberty.
